Education is a Primary Right
Our Constitution provides the right to free and compulsory education for children.Unfortunately, most of the young souls are overburdened with the heavy responsibility of earning money for their families and are forced into child labour. And , in thesse dire situation of covid pandemic with schools closed, most of them are forced to quit studies altogether and earn a livelihood. Should they be deprived of their moral right only because they are poor? They have the right to education as much as the priviledeged lot has. So we at Akshar have decided to give them what they deserve, their right to get educated and secure a better future for themselves as well as their families.
Precious Talents Should be Taken Care Of
Education is not just studying or securing grades, it's about the all round development of an individual. Every underpriviledged child has a skill but they mostly remain undiscovered and even if they are noticed, they are left unharnessed due to lack of money. Akshar has a vision to discover these raw talents , give them scope to harness their skills and provide them a platform to showcase their skills. They can also showcase their skills and earn a livelihood for their family through Akshar's fundraising initiative and become Atmanirbhar individuals.
Sports is Equally Important as Education
According to Nelson Mandela,"Sports has the power to change the world". This is exactly what Aksharians believe in.It is seen nationwide that though they are excellent sportsman,a child has to quit his dream of becoming the next Milkha Singh due to lack of proper running shoes, another child has to stop dreaming of becoming the next Sachin Tendulkar only because he cannot afford a cricket kit, while others cannot endure the training process due to malnutrition. Akshar envisions to transform the lives of these little sportperson of today so that they can keep their dreams of winning medals and trophies for their country alive.
Girl Child Empowerment
Underpriviledged children are deprived of their rights, but when it comes to a girl child, her situation is even worse.Every sixth girl child's death is due to gender discrimination. Even if they are allowed to live, they are mostly not educated, married off at early ages, and are subjected to abuse. How long will she remain the father's daughter, husband's wife or her children's mother ? When will she have her own unique identity? Akshar envisions to educate every underpriviledged girl child , create awareness in ground level about the neccesity of girl's education through campaigns, provide scholarship to meritorious girl students and dreams of an India where every girl has "apni khud ki pehchan".
Health is the Real Wealth
The underpriviledged children suffer from dismal health conditions due to illiteracy, malnutrition, lack of good sanitation habits.More than 40% are malnourished or stunted. Especially after the COVID-19 outbreak, everyone is now aware of the neccesity of having a good health and strong immunity.Keeping this in mind, Akshar has planned to organise health awareness sessions among children and their parents and organise free health check-up camps with the help of it's fundraising initiatives and volunteers.
